- Only summonses with the “Court Appearance Required” box checked at the bottom of the ticket will be listed on the court calendar. - If the “Court Appearance Required” box is not checked the court date is the date by which payment of the fine must be received. If payment is received after noted date, a late fee will be assessed. - Pleading Not Guilty - Defendants who have a summons that does not require a court appearance, but would like to appear before the judge to plead not guilty, must notify the court at least 7 days prior to your scheduled court date. If you fail to notify the court, an additional court appearance may be required. - If you fail to appear in response to a court appearance required summons or you fail to pay the prescribed penalty, additional penalties may result. A warrant may be issued for your arrest and your driving privileges in New Jersey may be revoked. |
