BRIGANTINE ISLAND TRIATHLON – Saturday August 7, 2010 The 23rd Annual Brigantine Island Triathlon sponsored by the Brigantine Community Education and Recreation Department will be held on Saturday August 7, 2010 at the Public Dock at 26th Street and Bayshore Avenue. The Triathlon will start at 8:00 a.m. rain or shine. A Triathlon T-shirt will be given to each pre-registered entrant. You may register online at active.com SURF-JAM "2010" – Monday August 16, 2010 A fun filled day at the beach co-sponsored by the C.E.R., the Brigantine Firemen and the Brigantine Police. Surfing and body boarding contests for all ages, music and a barbecue for everybody to enjoy. Entry forms can be picked up at the Root Beer Barrel, Primal Surf Shop, the C.E.R. office and City Hall one month prior to the contest. BRIGANTINE SURFING SCHOOL The Brigantine Community Education and Recreation Department will once again sponsor the Brigantine Surfing School. The School will begin in late June. Surfers must be at least 6 years of age – under 6 years may be considered for private lessons. The Surfing School will be held at the 38th Street Beach. For registration forms or additional information call the CER office at 266-3323 or Primal Surf at 264-1999. The Brigantine Surfing School is under the direction of Michael Laielli. LT. The entry fee is $10.00 per person and includes a classic T-shirt. Awards to 1st-2nd-3rd place finishers in each age division. Signup deadline is June 17, 2010. SUMMER READING PROGRAM AT BRIGANTINE LIBRARY – Starts June 21, 2010 For information call 266-0110 FAMILY FUN DAY "2010" – SATURDAY JULY 3, 2010 A 4:00 p.m. Parade featuring the Brigantine Brass, the Oakcrest High School Marching Band, floats, bicycles, wagons and marching groups will kick off Family Fun Day. When the parade arrives at 42nd Street the fun and games begin. Musical performance by the Jack Melton Dixie Land Band and the Firehouse Four. Local talent, clowns, magicians, amusement rides, pony rides, games of chance, items to purchase from local organizations and great food. The Brigantine Children's Pet Show will be held.
