Brigantine Police Department is located at 1417 W. Brigantine Avenue.
When do I call 9-1-1?
Calling 9-1-1 is for emergencies only. For example a medical emergency,
fire, accident, and when the Police are needed for immediate response
to emergency.
All other calls dial (609) 266-7414.
Do not call 911 for
road conditions.
Weather conditions? Bridge
Closed? ETC.
The City of Brigantine utilizes its own Radio Station, 1640 Am which provides
local information including updates on weather and emergency situations.
What if I see a fox, seal,
raccoon, or any other wild animals?
Leave them alone, do not feed them or get close to them as they all bite.
If they are in a populated area contact the police at (609) 266-7414.
Where can I get a temporary
Handicapped Parking Permit?
Applications can be obtained and submitted to the Police Dispatch, located
at Police Headquarters. All applications are subject to approval by the
Chief of Police.
Where can I get a Firearm
Application?
A packet can be obtained at the Police Dispatch Area. All instructions
are contained in the packet.
Can I park my camper and
sleep in it?
No, City Ordinance prohibits it.
If I need to get finger-printed
for a job, Firearms Application, CDL License, etc., How do I do this?
The Police Department offers this service on Thursdays from 1 p.m. to
3 p.m. and 7p.m. to 9 p.m. Appointments are necessary and can be made
at the Police Dispatch or by calling (609) 266-7414.
Does my child have to wear
a helmet and have a light on his/her bike?
The law requires that anyone 17 years of age or younger where a helmet.
A light is required for all ages if you are riding at night.
Can I park my car on any
side of the street?
The New Jersey Motor Vehicle Law NJSA 39:4-135, states that vehicles must
be parked in the direction of the flow of traffic.
Are there rules about noise
from construction, lawn mowers, etc.?
Yes, see local ordinance 220 for all information.
